Fri, July 31, 2009 - 2:52 PMIt is simply a matter of parsing the sentence to determine the role of the pronoun. If it is a subject, then use "who." If it is an object, use "whom."
x is calling - x acts as a subject
I shall say he is calling. - vs - I shall say him is calling.
Therefore, "who" is correct.
Similar examples:
I said that HE threw the papers in the trash.
John said that SHE is calling him names.
